365 Days of Love Notes, Weeks 19 & 20

Monday December 8, 2014

Feast of the Immaculate Conception. 6:30am mass has never been so good.
Also, the last newman club meeting of the year. It’s starting to hit me how incredibly blessed I am in my college community.
We took part in ugly Christmas parties and baked goods.

Tuesday December 9, 2014

As far as I’m concerned, if I can’t remember anything significant then it was a good day.

Wednesday December 10, 2014

Last day of classes, and christmas caroling around the Student Center with some of the Sisters of Life. Honestly, this is my favorite day of the year at school. Walking around a secular campus with two nuns in full habit, and singing for the Rabbis is one of the most joyous occasions. So. Much. Fun. I even took off of work for it.

Ended up saving Chris because his car got stuck in the shop. We had Moes and hung out on his campus because he still had a few classes. It was a nice day. Later on, I went to the old Seminary, where my Campus Chaplain lives. We had pizza and watched It’s a Wonderful Life.

Friday December 12, 2014

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Celebrations took place at the Parish with our annual Lessons and Carols. It included a lovely reminder from Thomas Merton on the back of our programs about what Advent really is.

Saturday December 13, 2014

Traveled into the city to see Arleen Spenceley at her NYC book launch for Chastity is for Lovers.

Then Chris and I walked to see the Tree, and the Macy’s windows. Overall a good day.

Monday December 15, 2014

Things begin to slow down. After work, I spent my afternoon in the CCM office, reading, preparing for finals, and drinking coffee. I really love that place.

Tuesday December 16, 2014

First Final Finished. And I begin to realize (again) how much I love my classes and learning about my chosen subject. Graduating may become a problem!

Wednesday December 17, 2014

Second to last final. Also, received a beautiful gift. Thomas Merton seems to be peeking his work into my life lately.

Thursday December 18, 2014

Last final. Then I saw The Hobbit with my dad, and found a first edition of No Man is an Island by Thomas Merton, on my Dad’s book shelf. Again, Tom seems to be coming up a lot.

Friday December 19, 2014

The office Christmas party. Good food, good friends.

Saturday December 20, 2014

Christmas Tree Shopping. Greenport with my love (more on that later). Jones Beach Christmas Light Show with my old friends.
